Hot springs diving

Starting from: Reykjavík, Kleifarvatn
Season: All year
Duration: 6 hours
Difficulty level: See requirements in the Preparation tab
Minimum age: 18 years old

Take a 4X4 tour to the rugged Reykjanes peninsula where you will dive close to the hydrothermal vents of lake at the bottom of lake Kleifarvatn.

After the diving, you will visit the Krysuvík and Seltún geothermal area where you can see boiling mud pots and colourful sulfur deposits.

You will be picked up from your accommodation in Reykjavik and the Kleifarvatn lake is a 30 minute drive.

The hot springs are just a 100 meter swim from the shore of the lake. You will see sulphur deposits on the lake floor and a wide caldera that releases large amounts of warm water and gases. When you enter this space it will feel like diving into a gentle earthquake due to the pressure created by the air bubbles coming out of the ground that causes the rocks to vibrate.
