Silfra Diving

If you are a certified scuba diver, it is a MUST to dive Silfra on your visit in Iceland. You will dive in drinking water and can touch two walls in two different continents at the same time.

If you travel with non-divers this tour can be combined with the Snorkeling Silfra Tour on one of our daily departures all year around.

You will be picked up from your accommodation in Reykjavík.

During the one-hour drive to Thingvellir National Park, you will be introduced to the unique geological and cultural history of Silfra and the surrounding Thingvellir area.

Upon arrival at the Silfra fissure, your guide will give you a detailed briefing of the dive site and the most important aspects of dry suit diving, and then assist you in setting up the dive equipment.

The tour includes two dives. of 30-40 minutes with a maximum depth of 18 meters unless in winter the outside temperature drops below 0°C then there is only one extended 40-45 minute dive for the safety and comfort of the divers.

Included:

- Free hotel pick up and drop off in Reykjavik
- 2 guided dives (if the temperature drops below 0°C there will be only 1 dive)
- All necessary equipment
- Hot choclate and cookies in the dive break
- Entrance fee of 1000 ISK for Silfra

To bring:

- SCUBA dive certification card (PADI Open Water or equivalent)
- Long underwear
- Thick socks
- Suitable clothes depending on the weather of the day

Requirements for participants:

- At least 150cm tall and weigh at least 45kg
- At least 18 years of age
- Be a certified diver at the level of PADI Open Water or equivalent and bring proof of their diving certification
- Physically fit
- Be ready to wear a sometimes tight & constricting dry suit
- Not be pregnant
Dry suit diving experience is recommended.
